What is CrownJun
Crownjun is a brand known for producing the smallest surgical suture needle (supermicrosurgery instruments) in the world. These needles are produced and manufactured by Kono Seisakusho Co, based in Ichikawa, Japan.
The revolutionary medical advancement has made it possible to suture tiny tissues and blood vessels, and to perform operations such as the reattachment of an infant’s severed finger or the transplantation of a thin skin layer without excision of the muscle underneath.
The surgical needles are just 0.8 mm long and have a diameter of only 0.03 millimetres (about a thousandth of an inch). The thread used is so fine (with a diameter of 0.012 mm) that it is invisible to the naked eye.
Multiple types of medical procedures have been revolutionised after the commercial production of 0.03 mm needles, including transplant operations and regenerative surgery.
Surgeons are now able to achieve a level of precision that was previously considered impossible, suturing blood vessels, lymph vessels, nerves, and other tissues to less than 0.5 mm in thickness, which reduced the physical stress on patients’ body and contributed to a better-quality postoperative life.
Reasons why Crownjun Microsurgery Suture Needle is chosen
1. Smallest suture needles in the world (with attached micro nylon thread)
-Superior micromachining technology: USP 12-0; 0.8 mm in length, 30 µm in diameter.
-Competitor’s Product Specification: USP 11-0; 3.8 mm in length, 50 µm in diameter
2. Wide range of needle and thread sizes available
-For use in lymphaticovenous anastomosis, flaps, digital replantation, hepatic arterial anastomosis, etc.
-Double-arm suture needles for liver transplantation and back-wall techniques, etc.
Crownjun has earned high praise from microsurgery professionals, performing blood vessel and nerve reconstruction under 3–20 power magnification, since their development in 2004. Crownjun’s micromachining technology allows them to manufacture quality suture needles suitable for super-microsurgery. They are also dedicated to maintaining the quality of their micro nylon thread making their threads extremely consistent in thickness.
